Water Water Everywhere, and not a drop to drink.

or something like that.

In our case it was supplies supplies everywhere, and not an organization in sight! Or at least, that's how it felt. So I fixed that today. Welcome to the new office/assembly line/storage facility of Heathens Hearth! (aka, what used to be the formal dining room...its still under construction, but this is most of it).
This is the postal area (you know, where we go postal!). All of our shipping and packaging supplies are stored here...along with business cards, promos, etc.
Temporary Storage, until I can get shelves for all our ready made stock. :) Also miscellaneous supplies like herbal tea bags, jars, and buckets of pre cut soap.
The staging area (aka the dining room table). This is where pictures will be done (great afternoon sunlight), baskets created, gift boxes stored, and etc.
A slightly wider angle showing off my antique china hutch :-) I'm so proud of that thing. I got it for a steal! Especially for a Duncan Fife (Phyfe)!
That's all for now! More later :)

Contests, Gifts, and Give-Aways

Contests:

We recently sponsored 2 contests in other blogs. 1 in Bath, Body, Candle for 2 bars of soap (Apple Crisp and Orange Pomander) and another at The Giveaway (for our Spiced Cranberry Mini-Set).

Congratulations to the winners of those contests!

Gifts!:

We recieved an unexpected gift today, from HolidayPrimitives over on etsy. She is including 2 of our Tiny Gift Sets as a gift for someone in her life, and included a link back to our shop so people could find us if they were curious about our products. :-) How great is that? And its a cute holiday tote as well! Check it out here: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=17930001

So thank you HolidayPrimitives! We sincerely appreciate the gesture.

and finally...

Give-aways!

I have yet to determine exactly what we should be doing as a give-away for the last holiday of the year, so I thought maybe I'd leave it up to you, our readers! A *choose your own give-away*, kind of like those old "choose the ending" books.

Between now and December 15th (that's 2 weeks from now), go check out our shop, come back here, and tell us what 1 item (max value $10) you would like to recieve as a give-away prize.

Winner will be chosen at Midnight December 15th and posted here in our blog the next morning.

*Bonus!* (Because, what's a contest without a bonus?) Anyone who makes a purchase from our store between now and then, *and* enters our contest via this post, will get 1 additional entry for every $10 spent. So, pick your prize, and get your holiday shopping completed soon!

good luck!

Amy

Hope Everyone Had a Happy Thanksgiving

(Frosted Snowdrops Tiny Gift Set) (Yuletide Tiny Gift Set)

We had a relatively quiet day around here. Lots of drama with our turkey, and a *very* late dinner, but overall, it was quiet; though with only 3 of us here at home, it couldn't have gotten too rambunctious.

I've decided to run a Black Friday to Cyber Monday Sale. I know that the internet can be dreadfully slow over this weekend, because everyone is traditionally out running around doing holiday shopping in the big box stores with all the really big sales, so I decided I'd offer a "reward" for those intrepid shoppers who chose instead to brave the internet, risking wallet and wrists (to carpel tunnel syndrome), to give quality handmade goodness for gifts this holiday season.
(Peppermint Frosting Tiny Gift Set)

So in honor of those brave souls, we are offering the following sale (as seen in our shop announcement here: http://www.heathenshearth.etsy.com/):

*All amounts listed are before shipping*

Spend $10 in our shop and recieve a free Tiny Gift set in any of our holiday scents (Pictured throughout this post - a $5 retail value). You may pick the scent you'd like, while supplies last, by leaving a message in the "notes to seller" section. If you do not leave us a message, we will choose one at random.

Spend $25 in our shop and you will not only recieve the free gift, but also get 10% of your purchase price refunded to you through paypal.

Spend $55 in our shop, and you will recieve the free gift, 10% off your order, *and* FREE shipping! This could be as much as an additional $14 off your total order!

This sale is valid through Midnight Monday night (Tuesday morning). Best of all, there are no coupon codes to enter, nothing to remember. Just do your shopping the way you normally do, and we'll take care of the rest!
(Gingerbread Tiny Gift Set)

Stay tuned to this spot, our Christmas and Yule-tide give away will be coming soon!

Yay!!! We made the front page.

We made the front page! You know, I was wondering how on earth we wound up with over 400 views in the matter of a couple of hours (between one check of Majaba and another, the actual views probably took much less time than that).

Funny thing is, I am pretty sure I recognize that collection from my brief glance at the front page when hunting treasuries... but didn't even notice our soap up there.

We wound up with 27 new shop hearts and 45 new item hearts. Lets hope they all come back for the holiday sales this weekend.

Thanksgiving Weekend.

Well, Misty is officially on her way to Michigan. That leaves me with the bulk of the stuff to do for any orders that come in between now and Sunday.

I suppose its my turn, I've been leaving her to fend far to often lately.

In that vein, I spent tonight making *more* body frosting.

First, I had a special order from a friend of a friend who has severe eczema/psoriasis flares...so I custom created a soap/frosting combo for him that includes both our goats milk and shea butter in the soap, as well as Tea Tree and Peppermint Essential Oils.

Then I moved on to Lavender and blueberry (not together, separate) body butters. I finished out the night with our Cafe Mocha.

Our kitchen is a riot of scent. This is not helped the least by the fact that the new shipment had a leaky bottle, and the cardboard container/sleeve was saturated in Midsummer's Night fragrance oil. I love that smell, but my god in the wrong quantity it can be overwhelming.

Tomorrow is soap. More Pomegranite Vanilla, Strawberry Cream, Sandalwood, Blueberry Cobbler, and more.

Weee! And its not even Black Friday yet. Come on ya'll... get your orders in early. :-D

~Amy

Oh yes, and we're in a treasury! Thank you Dashery! Show it some love - pretty please :) (sorry the pic is so small... Misty usually handles that part...lol)

YAY! and DOUBLE YAY!

Yay! I snagged a treasury this morning!!

Double yay! We've made Chocolate Mousse Whipped Body Frosting!! This stuff smells so freaking good I was hardpressed not to lick myself after putting some on!

Now, does that not looks sinfully delicious?! Trust me...buy a jar, rub some in, and you'll be irresistable...

Ravishing Red

*YAWN!*

Another late night making Whipped Body Frosting and packaging orders....6:20AM came way too early for me today. I'm not complaining though, we have had some amazing business over the last two weeks and I hope it continues.

Not only has business been great, but we are in our 5th treasury this week! The lovely Belinda of MiaBelleJewellry chose our Christmas Candy Soap for her Ravishing Red treasury yesterday.

Such a gorgeous collection...we are honored to be included.

I need a trailer.

To haul things in to the Post Office on days when the hubby isn't playing hookey from work. I could also stand to have about 12 more arms. :-)

So it appears that shopping season is in full swing, and Misty and I (mostly Misty) have been hopping the last week. We have gotten sales every day for the past 11 days, quite a few of those days there were more than one...and custom orders have us feeling like we're juggling. We're obviously excited, and, based on the number of treasuries we've been in lately, we're not the only ones. It could go to a girl's head. Really.

Especially the part where a week ago we were excited to hit 50 orders after being open just over 3 months, and here we sit, only 3 away from 100. Its amazing.

What's even more amazing though, is that, as Misty so aptly titled another post earlier this month "They Like US!". I think I can speak for both of us, and say that we are grateful to those people who have purchased from our store, to those who plan to, and even those who just like to browse the pretty pictures (which, thankfully, we're getting better at).

It is so amazing to wake up in the morning, check on our etsy shop, and find convo's like this waiting for us:

"I just wanted to let you know that this soap is AWESOME!!! I tried it last night for the first time and I absolutely love it. I can't believe how soft and moisturized my skin feels after just the first time using it and the smell is just lovely! I am so hooked! This is by far the best soap out there that I've tried so far to date. You rock! :)Keep up the great work!"

I think, in some ways, comments like that are even more exciting than the sales. (Though, by all means, please do continue to buy.)

That's all from me for now. I'm back off to make more of the Mini Holiday Soaps. Those little stocking stuffers have been very popular. And, I discovered they're perfect for going along with our business cards in packages. So, with that, I leave you with a few pictures.

Preparing the soap!

Yuletide in Goats Milk: For those who think the green might be too pretty for a man to want to use, we've made it in nice solid white - because no woman should pass up a chance to smell this scent on her man.

Ps. Stay tuned to this blog for information on our upcoming holiday give - away! It will be just as fabulous as the others!

A Blush Of Pink

I was lucky enough to be at my computer when Treasury West opened up...I was in a girly mood this morning so my treasury is a pretty pink :)

They look good enough to eat!

Since I was in the kitchen creating most of the weekend to fill orders, I decided to do a little tweaking and get some new photos of our Whipped Body Frosting. I think I may actually be getting the hang of this photography thing ;-).

Its Christmas time!

Ok, so not yet. It isn't even Thanksgiving, but, at least in some corners of the world people are shopping for Christmas.

I myself have spent at least part of the day doing some window shopping between making new listings for the shop.

The following are a few pictures (that link back to the shops) of things I'd really like, or that I just really like.

Like this Baltic Amber Chain Necklace from The Silver Hand's shop.

And this stunning picture from ophillia.

Or this beautiful glass peacock pendant from Willowmoon123.
So, dear readers, what's on your "oooh I want that!" list?

In time for the Holiday Season

Starting today, through Thanksgiving, every order our Blogger or LJ friends make from our Etsy shop for over $20 will recieve a free miniature gift set (retail value $4) that includes a 1 ounce whipped body frosting and a 1 ounce bar of soap (goats milk, shea butter, or glycerin) in a decorative gift box.

Supplies are limited, so start your holiday shopping early to take advantage of this special offer. For our friends who have friends who may want to order, you may extend this offer to them as well, or direct them to this post. Just mention Blogger or LJ in the notes to seller section during checkout through our etsy shop, and we will include your gift set when we ship. Due to limited supplies on hand, please allow us to pick the scent of the gift set.
This would make a fabulous stocking stuffer, office gift or perfect to keep for yourself!
Happy Shopping!

Yuletide Greetings

I think this has to be the prettiest soap we've made yet. I can't get over the gorgeous shimmery dark green. It looks so silky and satiny. We call it Yuletide Holiday Soap and it's available in 5 oz and 3 oz bars.

We have this scent because the honey thought we should have a more "manly" scent for the holidays...I guess he didn't want to be using the Frosted Snowdrops or Peppermint Frosting...so after some deliberation, this is what Amy and I decided on.

It's a warm buttery blend of pine, nuts, lavender, coconut, musk, and cedar and it has not only gotten the male seal of approval, just as many women are "ooohhing and aaahhhing" over it.

Also, to go along with the soaps, salts and body frosting in our holiday line, we've started to add some of our Scrumptious Sugar Scrubs.

You like us...you really like us!

Because it just so happens that our Frosted Snowdrops Natural Goat's Milk Soap is featured in a gorgeous treasury that CurlyGirlCrochet put together!

Check it out here and show the love!

Let it snow, let it snow!

I'm not sure how I get so lucky, but I'm sure I'll start getting hate mail soon ;-). I clicked on the treasury page and as soon as it loaded, the box was immediately there, so I was able to snag one again!

This time the theme is Winter...and these are a few of my favorite things....

Whipped Body Frosting...A Decadent Treat For Your Body

I can't even begin to convey how excited I am of our Whipped Body Frosting.

THIS. STUFF. IS. AMAZING.

We didn't use any water, glycerine or other fillers...this is the real deal. Made completely of Mango Butter, Shea Butter, Apricot Kernal, Coconut, Grapeseed, Evening Primrose and Sweet Almond oil, the only other ingredients we include in this heavenly cream is Vitamin E, Fragrance Oil and color.

Moisturizing, hydrating, silky....decadent. I think that's really the only word that comes close to describing it fully. Absolutely decadent.

This is how we do it

It's always fun to see process pictures of some of your favorite items being made...and since we were in a goofy mood tonight, we took a few while we were creating our yummy Whipped Body Frostings.

Amy's whipping it...whipping it good!

She was whipping for too long, so I took over...big grin for our blog buddies!

Scooooop and plop!

And voila! The finished product!

Poll: Body Butter

We are so excited to announce we will soon have our body butters available, just in time for the holiday season. Not only are we excited, but supremely proud, as our butters are handmade from scratch using all natural butters and oils that are amazingly nourishing for the skin, especially during the cold winter months.

The reason for this post isn't just to make that announcement, but to get some feedback from everyone. With so many different types of body butter available today, we want to know what our customers want.

Which of the following would you prefer and be more likely to purchase?

1. A thicker, more traditional body butter.

2. A whipped, light, creamy body butter.

Thanks everyone!

-Misty
